I bought some fake coins, are they something worth?

Question asked: I bought some coins from a street hawker and found out they are all fakes, are they worth anything?

Answer: There are not many collectors who collect counterfeit coins and most coin collectors would never add fake coins to their collection but there is an exception to this rule.

There are counterfeit coins known from very rare and expensive coins, like the 1804 dollar and there are very good copies seen as well. Those very good copies might be worth something for coin collectors to “complete” their collection with knowing they could never afford a real coin so valuable if it would be for sale at an auction.

In general, most fake coins are not worth anything, maybe a couple of dollars but the class “A” copies of a very rare coin might be worth between $25 to $100.
